Aoife has a broad commercial chancery practice, with a particular focus on company law and insolvency. She is regularly instructed in complex high-value litigation, including disputes with a multi-jurisdictional dimension. Aoife is also qualified to practice in Ireland, where she has represented clients before all levels of the Irish courts.

Aoife has extensive experience acting for creditors in banking and security enforcement disputes. Notable instructions include:

  • Acting as sole counsel for respondents to appeal against appointment of receiver by way of equitable execution.
  • Acting in well-charging proceedings on behalf of creditors seeking enforcement of multimillion-euro security.
  • Acting for creditors in proceedings seeking judgment on foot of personal guarantees.

  • Representing defendants (led) in successful challenge to summary judgment application seeking recognition and enforcement of foreign judgment pursuant to common law rules.
  • Advising and acting for advisory body in claim alleging breach of contract and negligent advice.
  • Advising businesses on insurance policy business-interruption claims arising from Covid-19 pandemic.
