SRA successfully obtains order for production and delivery up

On 27 August 2026, Benjamin Fitzmaurice LLB LLM of Forum Chambers was instructed by Jade Fairhurst of Stephensons Solicitors LLP represented the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) in obtaining an order for delivery up and production of information and client files in a matter involving the former legal practice of Albright Kendrick Law Limited (AKL) and its former Practice Manager, Noel Stuart Basson.

The SRA intervened in the legal practice operated by AKL in June 2026 with the practice closing on 30 June 2026. The SRA, at the time, stated the reasons for the intervention related to suspected dishonesty in connection with AKL’s business and a failure to comply with the terms of its licence pursuant to paragraph 1(2)(a) and (d) of Schedule 14 of the Legal Services Act 2007.
Since the Intervention of AKL by the SRA, the former Practice Manager has failed to respond to the SRA’s requests for the information and client files of the practice.

Mr. Justice Richard Smith made orders for the delivery up and production of files and information relating to the legal practice of AKL including, inter alia, associated preservation orders and costs.
