On 7 April 2020, Jon Lester appeared in the interim applications list in the Chancery Division via Skype.
Jon secured an interim injunction preventing the respondent from selling her property before the resolution of the underlying dispute. Mr Justice Birss granted the order on the strength of the case that Jon’s client was entitled to an equitable charge over the respondent’s property, and that there was a present risk that the property could be sold before his client could be compensated.
The Court and practitioners grow more confident by the day in the remote hearings process, and today’s interim applications list demonstrated that even litigants-in-person are able to engage with it successfully.
Jon is frequently instructed in property disputes involving questions of estoppel and constructive trusts.
